Our History
Lena Kozhina, the founder of the brand, got the idea to create Matcha Forest in 2019 because of her great love for matcha. She travelled to Japan many times and lived there for more than six months, instilling in herself the habit of drinking good matcha every day. «Matcha is modern, healthy and delicious,» is Lena's favourite phrase then and now. Since the foundation of the brand, we have been gathering fans of this tea around us and creating a real matcha community.
The next step was to tell and show people that matcha is an independent product, as well as a great alternative to coffee. So we won the love of guests of many Russian restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, but our tea was especially appreciated in Moscow – from well-known premium chains to specialty coffee shops.
During the lockdown in 2020, we brought peptide collagen to Russia for the first time, which immediately became a hit of sales. We didn't expect such a high demand, but we were very happy about it. Next, we imported chlorella, a unique microalgae that also has many fans.
In 2022, we opened an office in Kazakhstan, and in 2023 in Dubai. Our history has developed rapidly, but we have always remembered the values that have been with us from the very beginning: quality, honesty with the customers and respect for the work of Japanese manufacturers. Thanks to their centuries-old practice of growing tea and producing collagen and chlorella, as well as striving to achieve the highest quality, we have the opportunity to implement these products into our diet.
We know exactly what good matcha and leaf teas, peptide and nanocollagen, chlorella are, so we want to share these products with everyone.
Our mission
To provide the countries where we work with a year-round supply of functional and useful Japanese products, to improve the quality of life of thousands of people. And to share the knowledge that we possess thanks to our Japanese partners and constant training.
Our goal
To become a leading company supplying Japanese superfoods and dietary supplements in the countries where we work. We are confident that it will change the future for many people with the help of innovative products and brand’s publicity. We are creating a new reality for all of us and new rules for taking care of ourselves and our loved ones.
